An Excerpt:

From the hotel parking lot, Rachel watched the neon sign. Blink, blink, blink. Green turned to pink then back to green. Where the hell was he?

The October night approached the misty hours when even crickets fall asleep. Rachel shivered. She didn’t bring a suitcase or a coat. Garret said she didn’t need anything. He wanted to pick her up at her trailer after wrapping up the last shoot at the Haunted Mansion, but she didn’t want her mom or any of her idiot friends to see her run away with him. So, she walked the 1/2 mile to the motel down the road and waited.

Hollywood! Garret promised excitement. She could smell the freedom.

Her fists curled as she bounced up and down, her tight mini-skirt doing little to keep her warm. A small kernel of fear oozed into her consciousness. Rachel cursed. She wasn't used to waiting. Guys always picked her up on time even when she made them wait once they got there.

Then she remembered. The last time she made someone wait, they died.
